A Work In Progress || Current Book Update

I got this book for my birthday last month. Connor Franta is a popular YouTuber. His videos are funny raw and original. He loves talking to the camera, ever since he was young, his father filmed all family events. So it was natural for Connor to sit in front of a camera and talk. This is his first book. So far, it's been about his life. It's not the cheese typical type of memoir. There are alot of photos and quotes and tips, memories, letters, jokes.... the list goes on. It is enjoyable and easy to read, the pages are a good quality and the cover is creative and artistic. I'm pretty sure I'll finish the book today. This is the second book I've read that was written by a YouTuber. The first one was Zoella's book Girl Online - great novel.
Usually I'm not that too fond of books that author's write about themselves. But Connor's book has proven to be different and he's a very unique and interesting person. If you want to learn more about him, check him out on YouTube, Connor Franta.

Proud Owner of New Wheels || Advice

My brother is getting the car I drove. No worries, it's because I got a new car :) On my way to work this morning, I was thinking about what to tell him about being a car owner. And there's a lot to know! Having your own car is the first step into independence as an adult. It's thrilling and freeing! Here's my advice on what you should know as a new driver!

  • Have Fun ~ Go places. Peal off that dang "STUDENT DRIVER" sticker and go. Weather you're alone or with friends, go! You're an adult now, you don't have to stay at home or rely on someone else to give you a ride. As YouTuber Fun For Louis would say "Live the Adventure".
  • What's That? ~ No one wants to open their trunk one day and see random stuff you never knew was there. Know what's in your car, and know where it is. If you sneeze, you want to know where the dang tissues are! If you get into a difficult situation, you want the reassurance of knowing that you're prepared. Know where all the car's legal docs are. Keep them all together. I have mine in a bright red folder, so that if anything where to happen, it can be spotted easily. These tips are for your sake and your passengers' sake.
  • Be Conscious ~ Get to know the feel of your car, how well it reacts to how YOU drive. Discover your car's limits, safely! If you have a lot of people in the car with you, make sure they all know that they have to listen to you, your the driver, their lives are in your hands, LITERALLY. No pressure, haha, it's better to get scared now and be conscious, then take everything too lightly.
  • Ask Yourself ~ Do I like music while I'm driving? If so, how loud? Do I like the windows open/closed? Would I mind people eating in my car? If so, am I prepared to clean their mess?
  • Go Shop ~ There are some essentials you need in your car, for you and your passengers. Other than the emergency stuff, you need everyday stuff: tissue box, bags for garbage, and wipes. These are the essentials that not many people think about because they are simple necessities, "the simple bear necessities...".
  • Stay Clean ~ my brothers are notorious for leaving crap in my car, from tissues to wrappers, to clothes, to who knows what! People judge your ride, what's inside reflects to them what kind of a person you are. Yup, it's true. So tell your passengers to pick up after themselves!
These tips are things I have learned over my years of driving, no one told me about this stuff, I learned on my own. If I was in your shoes, I would want to be told about these things. So this is for you guys! Go, welcome to adult hood.

Hair Prep Before the Pool || Advice

Everyone wants to keep their hair nice and healthy. Going to the pool and swimming is great exercise. But just because you like the pool, doesn't mean your hair does. To protect your hair, the goal is to reduce the amount of contact between your hair and the chlorinated water. Here are some tips to keeping your hair happy during those summer pool parties.

  • Cap It
    • Yup, the ultimate way to protect your hair in a pool is to wear a swim cap. Time to rock out your inner swimmer.
  • Tie It Back
    • Leaving your hair down while in the pool causes it to get tangled, which leads to damage. So, if you have short hair-pin it back, medium length hair-ponytail or bun, and long hair-braid.
  • Soak
    • Going into chlorinated water while your hair is dry, will cause it to soak up all the chemicals in the water thus stripping your hair of it's essential oils and leading to damage at the roots and ends of your hair. So, before going for a swim, rinse your hair with un-chlorinated water-tap water. This provides somewhat of a wall between the roots of your hair and the chlorinated water of the pool.
  • Condition
    • Use a leave in conditioner on dampened hair, before going in the pool. This creates a stronger wall between your hair and the chemicals of the pool, than just soaking your hair before.
  • Oil
    • Rather than using leave-in conditioner, you can lather your hair in coconut oil before swimming. It initially is the same concept as conditioning and soaking, to create a protective wall.
